You can message any customer directly through Gaffer. Just tell Gaffer who to message and what to say.
How to send a message
Simply tell Gaffer something like:
- "Message John Smith and let him know I'll be there at 2pm"
- "Text Sarah to say the parts have arrived"
- "Send a message to the customer at 07700 900123"
Gaffer will confirm before sending, then deliver the message via WhatsApp or SMS.
WhatsApp vs SMS delivery
Gaffer will send via WhatsApp if the customer has messaged your Gaffer number on WhatsApp within the last 24 hours. Outside that window, it automatically sends via SMS instead. This is a WhatsApp Business API requirement.
Gaffer will tell you which channel was used after sending.
Rate limits
To prevent accidental spam, Gaffer limits outbound messages to 5 per customer per hour.
