After signing up, Gaffer walks you through setup via WhatsApp. Just chat naturally and answer the questions:
What Gaffer asks during onboarding
- Trade type — plumber, electrician, builder, HVAC, etc.
- Business name — how you want to be known to customers
- Service area — the towns or postcodes you cover
- Pricing model — hourly rate, fixed prices, or both
- Hourly rate / service prices — what you charge
- Call-out fee — if you charge one
- Emergency call-outs — whether you accept after-hours emergencies
- Working hours — your availability for each day of the week
- Tone of voice — friendly, professional, or casual
- Voice preference — male or female voice for phone greetings
- Google review link — so Gaffer can request reviews after jobs
- Bank details — for displaying on invoices (sort code + account number)
- Auto-accept jobs — whether customer bookings need your approval first
- Profile picture — your logo or photo for the WhatsApp profile
You can change any of these settings later by simply telling Gaffer (e.g. "change my hourly rate to 60") or via the web dashboard.
